At Chosen Children Village you will never see a child alone. This community is one of love, caring and growth amongst the children and staff. The high ratio of staff to child means that each child has a 'family member' that cares for them. Kisses and cuddles are as important as meal times! Visitors can see that the children are not afraid of human contact. In fact they relish it. In order to achieve the home atmosphere, the children are housed in cottages and are grouped according to their age and functional ability. The encouragement to grow and improve comes not only from staff but from their peers as well. Inside the cottages, bedrooms have a very personal touch and the caregivers are also encouraged to consider their cottage as home, thus completing the true family atmosphere. Very special friendships between the children have blossomed in this setting. Two of Chosen Children's liveliest ladies, Joje and Joenabie are the very best of "forever friends". During Joenabie's stay in a US hospital, Joje's evening prayers included thoughts for Joenabie; a touching reminder of the power of friendship. The children, being part of a family, are never made to feel that their time here is temporary. The roots they develop here are well grounded. With deep roots, their wings can grow strong and allow them to become everything they want to be. (Continue) CHOSEN CHILDREN VILLAGE FOUNDATION is maintained solely through donations, sponsorships and grants and has a Board of Trustees whose members serve without compensation.
