Niņo Donayre was born in Cebu on April 19, 1998, the sixth child of a 33 years old woman who had an affair with a married man. Prior to his birth, his birthmother was admitted to a home for unwed mothers who took care of her until she delivered the child. He was voluntarily surrendered by his birthmother due to her inability to support and provide for his needs due to the circumstances of his birth and financial constraints considering that she has other children to support.
Niņo Donayre was referred to Chosen Children where he was admitted on November 12, 1998. Upon admission, he had a head circumference of 15.5 inches, weighed 6.11 kilograms and measured 24.5 inches in height. His extremities and body build are normal in size and his frontal fontanel is still open. The following observations were noted which we believe are indicative of neurological problems: rigidity / stiffness of both upper and lower extremities, hyperextension of neck and arching of back.
