The School for Chosen Children started operation in 1997. The structure of the school was donated by Manos Unidas plus donors of the classrooms namely Dr. Pacifico de Ocampo, Sharon Cuneta-Pangilinan, Carmelino & Esperanza Alvendia, The Luz Puyat Martel, Dona Salustiana Dee Ty Foundation, Inc., and Assumption High School Class '64. A building attached to the school operating as a lunch room serves lunch and snacks for all the schoolchildren. The school has a music area and a sewing area to provide basic learning skills in those activities. Moreover, it has a small library where the students enjoy poring over children's books, story telling as well as live puppet shows.
For the school year 2000-01, the school registered 5 extern students and 44 schoolchildren from the village. These children are categorized according to their functional level with five sections such as the Star Section Class, High Function Class, Cerebral Palsy Class, Toddlers Class and the Hyperactive Class. Besides the academic exercises, various extracurricular activities are integrated into their educational curriculum such as exposing them to the "Chapel activity" to enhance their spiritual aspect, teaching them arts and crafts, and giving them physical education. Other activities include gardening and cooking. The School for Chosen Children was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on April 24, 2000. Currently, we are in the process of securing a permit from the Department of Education, Culture and Sports. ![]() CHOSEN CHILDREN VILLAGE FOUNDATION is maintained solely through donations, sponsorships and grants and has a Board of Trustees whose members serve without compensation.
